Step by step directions for adding a search box using Microsoft Word 2000:
 
 
1. Print this page for easier reading.
 
2. Log into your siteLevel account.
 
3. Click on the "Search Box Options" tab, and click on the "Use Hyperlink to Search Box" link.
 
4. Highlight the URL within the code in the text box on this page and, at the very top of your Web browser window (in the top toolbar), click on "Edit" and "Copy" to copy this code.  An example of a Search Box Hyperlink URL is the follow (however, please refer to your account management area for the correct URL for your account):

Please be sure to include the whole URL that lies between the quotes (" ").
 
5. Run the Microsoft Word 2001 program.
 
6. Open your Web page.
 
7. On your Web page, put your cursor where you would like the link to your search box page to appear.
 
8. Click on "Insert" and "Hyperlink" at the top of the Word 2001 window.
 
9. In the "Text To Display:" line in the window that appears, type in "Search This Site".
 
10. In that same window, put your cursor in the "Type the file or Web page name" line and press <CTRL> V to paste your search box URL.
 
11. Click on "OK".
 
12. Click on "File" and "Save as Web Page" at the top of the Word 2001 window.
 
13. Open the document in a Web browser to verify that the search link is placed where you would like.
 
14. Upload your page to your server.
 
 
Congratulations! You have successfully added your search box to your site!
