Step by step directions for adding a search box using Netscape Composer:
 
 
1. Print this page for easier reading.
 
2. Open the Netscape Composer program.
 
3. Open the Web page that you would like to add the search box to.
 
4. Place your cursor in the place where you would like your search box to appear, and type "insert-search-box".
 
5. Click on "File" and "Save".
 
6. Close the Netscape Composer program.
 
7. Log into your siteLevel account.
 
8. Click on the "Search Box Options" tab, and click on the "Get JavaScript Search Box Code" link.
 
9. Highlight the code for your JavaScript search box and, at the very top of your Web browser window (in the top toolbar), click on "Edit" and "Copy".
 
10. Open Notepad (found within Start/Programs/Accessories).

Open the Web page that you would like to add a search box to:
 
a In the Notepad program, click on "File" and "Open" at the top of the window.
 
b In the "Files of type:" drop-down box, select "All files (*.*)".
 
c Then find and select the Web page that you added the text "insert-search-box" to.
 
12. Find the "insert-search-box" text within the HTML, and highlight it.
 
13. Click on "Edit" and "Paste" to paste your search box code.
 
14. Click on "File" and "Save" at the top of the Notepad window.
 
15. Open the document in a browser window and make sure that it is placed where you would like.
 
If it is not placed where you would like, please open the Web page again with Notepad, highlight the search box (starting with "<!-- Begin siteLevel HTML Searchbox Code -->" and ending with "<!-- End siteLevel HTML Searchbox Code -->"), click on "Edit" and "Cut", click on "File" and "Save", and go back to Step 2 to retry placing your search box.
 
16. Upload your page to your server.
 
 
Congratulations! You have successfully added your search box to your site!
