Step by step directions for adding a search box using Microsoft FrontPage 2000:
1. Print this page for easier reading.
2. Log into your siteLevel account.
3. Click on the "Search Box Options" tab, and click on the "Get JavaScript Search Box Code" link.
4. Highlight the code for your JavaScript search box and, at the very top of your Web browser window (in the top toolbar), click on "Edit" and "Copy" to copy search box code.
5. Run FrontPage 2000.
6. Click on "File" and "Open" in the top toolbar of the FrontPage2001 window.
7. In the window that appears, find and select (highlight) the Web page that you would like to add a search box to.
8. Press the "Open" button.
9. Make sure you are viewing the page in "Normal" mode (check the tab at the bottom of the FrontPage 2000 window).
10. Put your cursor where you would like to add your search box and type "insert-search-box".
11. Click on the "HTML" tab at the bottom of the FrontPage 2000 window.
12. Find and highlight the "insert-search-box" text within the HTML code.
13. In the top toolbar, click on "Edit" and "Paste" to paste your search box code.
14. Now click the "Preview" tab at the bottom to verify that your search box is placed where you would like.
If your search box is displaying and functioning correctly, proceed with Step 15.
If it is not, click on the "Normal" tab at the bottom of the FrontPage 2000 window, and click on "Edit" and "Undo" two times (once to undo the pasting of your code and another to undo the typing of "insert-search-box"), and go back to Step 9 to try placing your search box code again.
15. Click on "File" and "Save" at the top of the FrontPage window to save the document.
16. Upload your page to your server.  If you don't use FrontPage's publish web utility, you will have to do it manually via FTP or other resource.
Congratulations!  You have successfully added your search box to your site!
